Lions prep for Vikings

After losing a close game at home to the Buffalo Bills 17-14, the Detroit Lions (3-2)  are preparing to hit the road as they face the 2-3 Minnesota Vikings.

The Vikings are coming off a 10-42 blowout at the hands of the Green Bay Packers and are looking to pick up their second home victory of the season.

Lions Cut 7, keep Freese

The Detroit Lions have made another round of cuts that brings their team total down to 75 before Tuesday’s mandatory deadline.  Those waived include Kicker Giorgio Tavecchio, Cornerbacks Jonte Green & Aaron Hester, Fullback Chad Abram and Quarterback James Franklin.

In game three of the preseason, the Lions defeated the Jaguars bringing their preseason record to 2-1 with a victory over the Browns and a one point loss to the Raiders.

The Lions fourth preseason game will be this Thursday on the road against the Buffalo Bills.  Great seats and cheap tickets are still available so get yours now!

Lions expect C. Johnson to play Sunday against Steelers

Calvin Johnson has been working on maintaining his body this season and has held back from the Lions last two practices.

“Body feeling good,” Johnson said. “Just got some maintenance issues that we’re just taking care of.”

The Lions will need Johnson as they face a still dangerous Pittsburgh Steelers who are coming off a home win against Buffalo.
